Gwangju Metropolitan City, Korea, designated as a Creative City of Media Art in the UNESCO Creative City Network (UCCN),
has been holding the International Media Art Festival since 2012 that includes a variety of events such as exhibitions,
performances, and discussions combining culture and art with science and technology in a bid to create a global creative city in which arts, industries, and urban spaces exist in harmony.

Celebrating its 11th anniversary this year, the Gwangju Media Art Festival that is co-hosted
by Gwangju Metropolitan City and the Asia Culture Center is taking place
from September 29 to October 9 (until October 10 for the exhibitions at the ACC) with the theme of ‘Color of City.’

    Color of City

    Light is an existence with colors of different interpretations.
    As the theme “Color of City” implies, all visitors and participants will add colors to the city while experiencing media art in a form of “plays” through which they can enjoy the diversity and artistic creativity of urban cultures.
